potential use case: shared subscriptions

It's desirable to allow multiple members of an organization to share a
single mail list subscription.

This would let an org, say a lab with developers, monitor list traffic
centrally for a list of interest, eg. you could have a local archive page
for a specific list like ogce-discuss. If the any of the developers wants
to participate in the list or ask questions, they can post under the
authority of the common subscription. (The post might show up on the
remote list as being from "member of devel group" .)
The content of the message could of course reveal the individual identity,
eg. "Thanks, jpr".

This could enable a devel group to more easily participate in
mail lists of interest to the entire group without forcing
each member of the group to maintain their own subscription with the
originating list service.
