__Weblogin__ is a single sign-on service that ensures a consistent and secure method of BlazerId-based authentication for web sites at UAB.
Your web site can be a basic collection of webpages or a complex web application. The weblogin service requires a user accessing your web site to authenticate with their BlazerID and password.
Once the user has been authenticated, they can be granted access to your protected web pages. The user may also visit other web sites protected by the weblogin service without having to login again. This feature provides a single-signon experience for the user.
Below are some sample web sites as well as two live web applications that require you to authenticate using your BlazerID and password before you are granted access to the web pages. Each section contains links to the specified web site as well as a description of what is available at that web site. The first link you click on will present you with a request to login. You must authenticate at this point. After that you will be free to visit any of the other links without having to login again.
Once you close your browser, your weblogin session will end and if you wish to visit these sites, you will need to authenticate once again.
If you'd like information on how to use this service, please visit [the on-line documentation|http://lab.ac.uab.edu/node/view/97].

;[Sample 04|https://metric.it.uab.edu/demo/weblogin/sample05]:Sample 04 is an example of strict access control. It forces the user to enter their BlazerID password when the request to the page, overriding the single sign-on feature. This shows that even secure documents can be protected with weblogin and that the web site administrator can guard against the situation where a user has walked away from the browser without logging out. This is an important feature to ensure that the user accessing your documents is actually the user they claim to be.
